CPP is a joke.

I have been a client with FNB since about 1988, and hold a premier banking account. My credit record is sterling, and I have NEVER missed a payment. About two years ago, I have taken out a personal loan with FNB, WITH CPP, which is mandatory. In May, I was retrenched. RETRENCHED. I filed my CPP application on the 4th of June. Every time I went into the bank since, or phoned, I was advised to apply for COVID relief. First of all, nice try. Eventually on the 18th of June, when I did get hold of someone (going into the branch is as useful as wings on a turtle) I was informed that my claim was not received because I used the wrong email heading upon submission. I spoke to Dageng at 11.35 on the 18th, and my claim was escalated. On the 20th of June, I have received 2 sms's stating that my claim was approved. My debit order for the loan still went off. On the 26th of June, I went back to bank, and after an hour of my time, reference number F*** - ***, I was informed that my claim has been approved, they simply need to notify the bank. I was promised that someone would phone me back with feedback, same day. 29th Rolled along, no feedback, so I phone again. More airtime, more loss of funds I do not have, only to be told that my claim has been denied. No reason given, but it has been escalated, and someone will phone me back, same day. Same promise. Today, the 30th, I had to phone again. Same feedback. Escalated, they will get back to me. More airtime. Your calls are recorded, go listen to them.

On what grounds was my claim rejected, first of all? Everything was above board, and I have my CPP contract. By browsing HelloPeter, I see many similar complaints, so I am seriously considering taking a Class A lawsuit, as too many people are being *****ed out of their livelihoods by this. I am bitterly disappointed. I know my patronage will make no dent to FNB, but I will never, ever use them again for any loans or services, nor will I recommend them. This is utterly disgusting and the communication is shocking. I have not even requested relief for my overdraft or credit card, just the loan, by trying to be a model citizen. This is where the legal route gets you.

I am still waiting for my debit order to reversed, as per the recorded telephone conversation on this reference number
