Covid19 Government Guarantee Loans
I have just been informed that: "The account is unfortunately not eligible to apply for this loan due to the turnover and current facilities availed of, which doesn’t allow for increased exposure at this time." The bizarre thing is that if there hadn't been a lock down and suffocation of business I wouldn't have needed any further assistance. My account has operated mainly in credit until the lockdown came along.
So, how does the Government Guarantee provide assistance other than to the banks. i.e. If a business qualifies for increased borrowings why worry about a Government Guarantee? This doesn't make sense.
All that is happening is that "warranted " increased facilities are being guaranteed by the Government. Whoopee for the banks!
the scheme is only applicable to businesses that "Have no existing capacity to borrow in order to alleviate financial distress" which contradicts what FNB are saying to me i.e. - Sorry you have no further capacity to borrow given the strength of your business so you don't qualify.
