COVID relief not up to scratch
In my opinion FNB has fared the worst with basic COVID relief. I rent out a few properties and some tenants are having trouble paying rent. With Standard Bank and ABSA it has been extremely easy to just arrange a 3 month payment holiday - you don't pay for 3 months and you'll take a bit longer to pay your bond off. Not so with FNB. They loan you the money you need to pay your bond for 3 months and you then have to pay them back that amount (with interest) over 5 years. It is better than nothing, but terrible compared to the other banks. I don't want to end up with a 5 year debt. You also have to apply via their banking app - I asked for help just on my home loan, but they also included the amount that I'll pay on my credit card. In the loan document they sent via the app, they do not set out at all how they calculate the amount they want to loan you - just a lump sum of who knows what put together. FNB is trying to be too fancy - just give a holiday and be done with it.
