Covid relief fund ******* - *********** and *************

I am absolutely disgusted with FNB right now. I app**** for COVID relief in May 2020. It was approved for 3 months. I received relief of R12881.60.

For May the debit orders ran off the COVID relief account with no hiccups. The same for June & July. I was then offered an extension for another 2 months and received an additional R8812.40.

I called their call centre to be told that I was covered from April – August 2020. How can I be covered for April 2020 when I only app**** in May 2020.

There is an amount of R3012.6 not accounted for and that’s because in September 2020 the debit orders were meant to run off the COVID account. The interest was redirected this month but not 2 accounts. My FNB Revolving loan (R761.18) as well as my Direct Axis loan (R2249.46).

This is basic accounting that FNB fails to understand.

I am expected to pay back a total of R21694.0 which is 5 months’ worth of relief however I only received 4 months. Now tell me how is it fair that I am required to pay back the full amount when I didn’t get the full benefit.

I was not refunded any amounts over this period therefore there is still an amount of R3012.60 owing to me. The same issue with the account fee. the account fee of R219.00 was only redirected 2 times out of the 4 times that the relief fund account worked.

There this means I am also owed R657.00 (R219.00 X 3 months) for when it was redirected.

I was sent the COVID transaction statement and it is clear as day that each transaction only appears on it 4 times when it should be thee 5 times since I was covered for 5 months.

I have sent messages on social media and tried to get assistance through the secure chat but with zero joy. No one has cared to get back to me.

This is already a challenging time and FNB has done but stress me.

I think it’s time to change banks and I advise other people to please stay away from an *********** bank.

I want my funds reimbursed immediately!

Radio silence. No resolution. What's going on FNB? This is not rocket science.

It's simple, reimburse me for either April or September and the balance should decrease the total amount owing on the relief fund.

A premier consultant contacted me and told me that the entire balance will be used against what is currently owing. At least you guys acknowledge that I was not covered for 5 months and there is a balance of R8000. R4000 of which should be reimbursed to me and the other R4000 should decrease the total amount owing thus reducing the monthly installment.

How is that fair that the total balance is used against what is owing. That's a breach of your own contract which states I will be covered for 5 months but only received 4 months.

As consumers if we breach any contract we will be taken to task but if you do it then we must live with the inconvenience.

Where is the morality in that.

I am sick and tired of this run around. You guys have not made anything easier for your clients.

Next step is the Ombudsman.
