COVID-19 “cash flow relief” is just more debt
Dear FNB, Your COVID-19 “cashflow relief” is an absolute disgrace, and should be classed as reckless lending. I app****, thinking (logically) that FNB would either pause my repayments for the next 3 months, and extend the repayment period on my loan, or reducing my monthly installments. Instead, I have been offered another loan. Which will need to be paid off over the next SIXTY MONTHS! Absolutely disgusted at this brazen attempt to MILK your paying clients, at a time when we literally have no control over the situation we are in. Even if I wasn’t dealing with a salary cut, I would not be able to afford the repayments for this loan. What in earth are you thinking?!

Just to also make you aware that the “sound financial advice” that your call Centre agents are offering is for me to default on my repayments, in order for me to make a payment arrangement for accounts that are in arrears... due to FNB not being willing to provide actual, viable solutions, and rather force their clients into taking more debt.
They have also had me calling different numbers for over an hour, trying to arrange a reduced repayment... your secure chat agents can’t assist with anything, give me a number to call, I call that number. They tell me I’m in the wrong department, give me another number to call. That department says they can’t assist and give me another number to call. They then refer me back to the secure chat feature on the app... vicious, useless cycle that only succeeds in adding fuel to my frustration.
I am trying to do the responsible thing, and arrange a manageable installment, that allows me to continue paying my debt back to you, without risking my credit score, losing my house and putting myself into even more debt that I cannot afford to take on!
I am honestly so disappointed.
