Convinced my wife to move over to FNB.........what a BIG MISTAKE!!!!
I have been a FNB client for many years now, and my wife always banked with Standard Bank as our previous home loan was with them. Every time I went into a FNB branch I was always asked why I did not get my wife to change over to FNB to utilize all the benefits and discounts of having my entire family bank with FNB...
Last year, we bought a new home and got the bond through FNB. I realized that this was my best chance to convince my wife to move over, as she was also always afraid of all the admin that would come along with changing banks. I was able to convince her and at the branch, the FNB sales consultant at FNB Lynnwood branch, Perseverance (Percy) Mabitsela took all of the necessary information and assured us that the process, which included moving her debit orders and applying for a credit card, would be smooth and seamless....and boy was that ever SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH!!!
Its been 4 months now, her debit orders are still not all moved over, any ones that did get successfully moved over is because she had to contact the vendor and move them over herself. She has followed up on her credit card application so many times, filled in the necessary forms and sent them to Percy, but has gone long periods with no reply. Even when Percy said she was escalating the issue to the credit card teams, we received no feedback. My wife had to end up going to apply on her own anyway and when she contacted someone else for assistance they told her the first application had EXPIRED.
This has all turned into a big joke now, it should not take 4 months to get this right. My wife is still paying fees on her Standard Bank accounts to keep them open as FNB has not resolved anything nor have they provided prompt assistance and feedback.
My wife is fed up now and I don't blame her.......he entire experience has been exhausting and negative. I am feeling like I made a big mistake asking her to move over......
Please have somebody assist her ASAP to get the credit card application sorted, else I might find myself moving to another bank as well. As we speak I am actually starting to get quotes to transfer my home and vehicle loans elsewhere this is so ridiculous to continue to bank with a bank that provides such terrible service.....she may never recover from how bad this has been and will close her accounts if this isn't sorted soon....
