Constructive criticism that will protect your interests
If there is one piece of advice I can offer based on my experience, it is this: exercise extreme caution before choosing to engage with FNB, whether for your home loan, home insurance, or general transactional banking needs. My recent dealings with the institution have revealed systemic shortcomings that go far beyond a single dispute.
My insurance claim was declined based on what I consider to be materially false information and reports purportedly issued by "experts", entities that, upon closer inspection, appear to lack the necessary qualifications and expertise to provide objective assessments in the relevant field. What is particularly concerning is that the contents of these reports do not even correlate with the photographic evidence that formed the basis of the refusal. The conclusions drawn are not only factually inaccurate, but appear to have been crafted to support a predetermined outcome that favored the insurer, rather than reflect an impartial and accurate assessment of the facts.
What has been particularly troubling is the apparent unwillingness of the institution to accept any responsibility or engage meaningfully with the substance of the complaint. Instead, there appears to be a concerted effort to obscure the issues, rely on flawed or misleading evidence, and ultimately protect the bank from liability at all costs.
Consumers are entitled to rely on fair, transparent, and professionally sound practices, especially when it comes to financial products and services that affect their homes and personal security. Unfortunately, my experience suggests that these expectations have not been met by FNB. I urge prospective clients to consider this carefully and to conduct thorough due diligence before entrusting FNB with their financial affairs.
