Complaint to FNB left undealt with , ignored .
On Monday 15th January just after 5 pm I tried to deposit R1800 at the FNB Plumstead bank ATM machine . I inserted my bank card , punched in my pin. Chose deposit , typed in my reference, placed the R1800 in the deposit slot . The ATM machine immediately proceeded to cancel the deposit without even counting the money . It took 3 or 4 minutes to cancel the deposit then returned my bank card to me . But it took my R1800 and never gave me a receipt. And the R1800 never showed up in my FNB bank account . The bank was closed so the next day , Tuesday 16th January , I spoke to a Consultant at FNB Plumstead . She filled in a complaint form , gave me a copy with a reference number written at the top , and told me it would take 2 to 5 working days to investigate . Today , 23rd January , which is 8 days after my complaint , a Consultant at FNB Plumstead informed me that there is no record of me depositing R1800 and no record of my complaint . Which is ridiculous . I showed her the complaint form which another Consultant at that FNB branch had filled in and given me a copy of . She stated that there is nothing they can do . I told her that is not acceptable, that I will go-to the Banking Ombudsman and lay charges against FNB Plumstead with the police for *****ing my money , my R1800 . She then copied the complaint form I had and said that she will phone me tomorrow . So 8 days ago the Plumstead FNB ATM machine took my R1800 and nothing has been done about that. So what is there to prevent this happening again to me and to other FNB customers ?
