COMPLAINT AGAINST FIRST NATIONAL BANK
COMPLAINT AGAIST FIRST NATIONAL BANK (FNB) I, Andrew Wamala Sseruwangi, humbly submit a complaint against FNB for a review. FNB worked hand in glove with a fugazi and/or spurious African Credit Union (ACU) to withdraw unauthorized total amount of Nineteen thousand eight hundred and twenty (19,820.00) from my FNB account. On May 29, 2023, ACU withdrew unauthorized R 9,910.00 from my FNB account, and another unauthorized R 9,910.00 was withdrawn on June 28, 2023. After the first ACU unauthorized withdraw, on or about June 1, 2023, I went to FNB Kempton Park Square Mall (KPSM) branch and explained to them that a *****ulent withdraw had been made on my account. I further informed FNB that ACU called me and asked for approval of my credit debt check sent by FNB. On April 21, 2023, I was told to log into the FNB app, but after asking me for my bank statement, I realized that ACU was a spurious company, because ACU had claimed to know all my debts. So, I declined to provide the bank statement. After disregarding several calls from ACU, on or about March 2023, I answered it’s call in which I was told that ACU helps those who are deeply in debt with high interest rates. ACU further told that it knows all my debts, which I believe FNB to be the source of that knowledge, because FNB is only custodian of my debt information. On or about April 21, 2023, ACU asked me to send a photo of my ID via its WhatsApp number and I did. ACU assured me that it will pay all my loans which are paid through my FNB account. However, I didn’t sign up with ACU for anything when Mr. Luvo Nombande sent me a voice recording and directed me to an SMS link on the phone. I was skeptical about ACU and not convinced that it was a legitimate company or reliable to honor its offer to pay my debts without interest as they claimed, so I didn’t sign as directed. I went to numerous FNB branches in Kempton Park in an effort to reverse the first ACU R 9,910.00 unauthorized withdraw but in vain. I also went to another FNB branch in Magopany, and lady who assisted me instructed me to place my fingerprints on the FNB system to confirm that I visited that branch. She went to her office and when she came back, she told me that ACU was not a spurious company. She further said that, “They paid for your debts, so don’t stress.” She further showed me the documents she was holding with markings of the debt payments which were made. She further said that, “the revolving account loan, FNB credit card and card payment were not paid by you but ACU.” She further emphasized, “ACU are not spurious.” Indeed, I relaxed and knew that all was well. However, none of my debt loans were paid by ACU, but stayed unpaid.
What made matters worse is, after instructing FNB to reverse the *****ulent withdraw and also to stop ACU from any other ACU withdraws, due to the fact that none of my debt loans were paid by ACU, on June 28, 2023; ACU again withdrew another R 9,910.10 from my FNB account! I have made all efforts, including but not limited to, a letter of demand, to FNB to reverse the unauthorized total amount of R 19,820 but FNB has refused and said that it is irreversible because ACU put a blocked it, yet that ACU is holding that money with FNB, on a Trust Account No. ***. Therefore, it is my humble prayer that you assist me to get my R 19,820.00 from FNB, which is working hand in glove with a spurious ACU to take my money. Thank you for your time consideration and a prompt response to my humble request.
Yours sincerely, Andrew Wamala Sseruwagi Dated: July 30, 2023
