Closing revolving loan

So I went to FNB last week to close off my fnb revolving loan account and the lady who was helping me she confirmed that in the next 3days it will be closed off but unfortunately it's not and this is the same thing that happened years back when I was trying to close off this account. My Question is how come they are able to make people open something now when I want to close it its just a struggle that I don't understand. This is really disappointing.
