CLOSING OF CREDIT ACCOUNT

so i payed of my credit card and the morning after that i did a secure chat with the bank and ask them to close my account ; where i was told to pay another settlement amount so i did . almost a week later my card and account has not yet been canceled as they can not get hold of me . iam staying on the farm without signal, know again i must log a new call as the request has been canceled. how long does it takes to close my credit card as i will not pay any amount of service fee or settlement amount for the credit card again!
