Closing FNB accounts
So today, 46 years after i opened my first account at FNB, i initiated the first steps to close all my FNB accounts. I am migrating to Capitec bank. In a prevoius report i detailed my very negative expierence with FNB in Stellenbosch. After this, the Branch Manager contacted me and offered to come to my house to try and address my problems. At that stage i was on my way out of town and agreed to inform her when i return. On my return i decided to not inform her of my return to see if she would walk the extra mile and contact me to enquire about my return. Alas!, i was far too optimistic. Nothing happened. In the mean time my technical issue with paying certain beneficiaries electronically, was persiting , which had a negative impact on my income. This was solved by opening a Capitec bank account and use that account to make electronic payments. I guess the whole issue goes back to FNB corporate policies, procedures and training. The Stellenbosch branch is clearly understaffed and employees are clearly not trained well. It seems that FNB is cutting on staff and branches to make more profit irrespective of the negative effect on their customers. FNB does not need to open a docket for this. They do not need to contact me again. I am finished, done, klasr with them. Regards
