Closing Business Account

I opened a business account with FNB after starting a business a while back. I have not been using the account and it has racked up about R650 in arrears. I have been quite busy and been meaning to close the account.

I phone them today to close the account, obviously knowing I need to pay the amount outstanding. The lady over the phone then tells me that the amount is actually R850 and that the account is now dormant and I cannot EFT to it. Thus I will need to go deposit cash at a teller or go into the bank itself. So now I have to make time to go into town to sort this out. While I am not able to sort this out electronically they are still allowed to deduct money from this account monthly, how convenient for them.

I am really happy with most of FNB's services, but this really made me quite livid.
