Closed your Account the day you move your salary or else deal with mystery service debit orders. ******!
I've received the worst possible service from FNB, all because I changed my salary to a NEW account I ended up using their account as a secondary account which of course means there the available amounts in my FNB account will be understandably lower than before. Long story short, I've moved all my debits over to the new account but two entities never updated their records and so still debited the FNB account. I transferred the money as soon as I learned about this ( to be exact the following day, my pay day is the 25th) I am well aware that entities track their clients accounts for 5 working days if the first debt attempt was unsuccessful. FNB made the funds available for the entities to debit successfully which automatically set my account in a negative which is totally fine. The messed up part is when I deposited the money the following day into my FNB account to bring it back to positive standing, the bank then go and deduct a further R400 and the debit reference reads as "2 debits not paid on *** date). Now this ****es me off. Firstly I never app**** for overdraft so this means if any entity's debit is unsuccessful then the bank should NOT be playing hero by paying those amounts with ill intentions to further debit my account. This is outrages and very vindictive of FNB. Secondly whether this is something that has been in existing or automatically forms part of your banking profile as an FNB account holder, IT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME, I NEVER CONSENTED TO THIS. I approached the FNB brank in my area ( THE GLEN MALL) and even their staff member who looked into my matter said that they dont agree with what happened on my account. If you are an FNB client ( your salary account) best be prepared to close your account when you decide to switch your salary to another account. This is by far the worst case of corporate bullying I've seen. Paying for services you never authorised and then on top of that charging a client R200 per debit order which They "choose" to honor without my knowledge and then go and over charging me a day later.
