Close my account FNB!!

After a painful 4 years of trying to close my cheque account and FNB leaving it open to incur bank charges and then handing it over to legal without giving me the decency to notify or resolve it with me I’ve now paid R5,700 of accumulated bank charges so that they can finally close it but I’m now left with the predicament of getting a settlement letter to indicate that I’m done with this account. Why is it such a pain to close an account with FNB??
