Clearance of Judgement - Paid up letter

I have settled my outstanding dues against an old home loan - payment was made on the 31st of October 2017 and I requested for my paid up letter. This letter when first issued was without any ID numbers being stated on the letter.

I pointed out their error and then a new paid up letter was issued on the 14th of November, 2017 stating that this was also being sent to all the credit bureaus to remove the judgement against my name.

However, this letter failed to state clearly that the judgement was to be removed since the amount was settled.

How come FNB does NOT have any format of this type of letter that any *********** staff can type up, and have it sent as official documents..

I then logged the dispute with Transunion with the relevant documentation. Their website clearly states that the judgement will be removed once a paid up letter is sent. Since they received a paid up letter on the 14th from FNB - why then is it still showing in my credit report. The judgement is standing but the a/c shows as completely paid up. It makes no sense.

We then contacted Transunion last week on the 23rd - logged the dispute via email and expected feedback from them. No word from them either and only after I called on the 28th - was I informed that the matter is being registered for dispute on the 28th and I would have to wait a further 7 days for my judgement to be cleared. This is after they've received similar instructions from FNB. My dispute reference number with Transunion is: TU ********** 3-000542-01.

It has been almost 30 days since payment was made and acknowledged and I am still being given the runaround by FNB and Transunion.

Please can someone assist me with immediate clearance of my judgement as I have a job interview pending and they will be doing a credit check on Friday, the 1st of December 2017.

Hi Naomi Thanks for responding to my complaint and assigning a reference number etc. This however, is unfortunately irrelevant if my judgement is not cleared by tomorrow since I lose a good job opportunity due to staff incompetence at FNB. Surely the bank would have a standard format of a letter to issue to the credit bureaus once they have received payment in full - my case could not have been the first time someone has settled their dues. To first be issued with a paid up letter that doesnt even state my ID number on it, and have it signed by bank managers, for me to point out the error, a second letter being issued without request for removal of judgement highlights either extremely poor training to staff, or then a complete lack of interest to follow compliance in clearing a client's name. Either way - Fnb needs to seriously improve their standards. Maybe the next client can be given improved service if the above letter is taken seriously by management... Regards Arthie
