Claim for my late mother policy

I took a policy with FNB for me , my late mother and my two children. Unfortunatley my mother passed on the 17/08/2015 two days late I went to FNB to claim since I had a policy with them I submitted all the necessarry documents at Vosloorus branch. a day late I went back to find out the status of my claim because I didn't receive any call from them. when I called in at the self services telephone I was told they will not pay my claim because of the waiting period.

now what I find so strange is that all the six premium went through (as a waiting period) I did ask for th recording to be emailed to me because I took that policy over the phone and till today am still waiting, I dont understand what do they mean about the waiting period. I had too bury my late mother borrowing money from people and till this day I still have a huge gap on my finances because of my mothers funeral. I have never felt so humilitated in my life worse by my fanancial institution the people who are supposed to be looking out for me are the ones that caused my financial drained I did log a complaint with them still I am not satisifed with their answer and I still want the recording of that day when I took the policy with them.

Regards,

Phumi

I am highly dissapointed with FNB with their poor service they gave me as their client. i would really appreciate if this can be attended to the soonest because i will never advise anyone to take any product with them.

Dear Miss Simelane
I refer to your enquiry received on FNB Care.
Please be informed the policy inception date is when FNB life received the 1st premium, you then need to add 6 months to this date and that is the waiting period end date.
28/2/2015 - 28/3/2015 1 month
28/3/2015 - 28/4/2015 2months
28/4/2015 - 28/5/2015 3 months
28/5/2015 - 28/6/2015 4 months
28/6/2015 - 28/7/2015 5 months
28/7/2015 - 28/8/2015 6 months
The decased passed away on 17/8/2015 , this is then deemed as being in the waiting period.

Hi Clinton,
Sorry I couldn't speak to you over the phone, I am on switchboard. Thank you for your respond regarding my complain.
but this is the same thing that I was told on my last two complains, you still not resolving my issue please note I took this over the phone so I don't have the actual contract that is stating the same thing you saying right now. that is why I need the recordings of that day when I was talking to a consultant explaining to me everything including the waiting period. Only when I make a claim you guys are so quick to point out the dates and not counting the premiums you have received so far. My understanding is that my contract started from they day when I took my policy over the phone and all 6 premiums paid for without fail.
When you forward me those recording when the consultant explained everything to me then I will definitely put this to rest. I don't have a contract to prove this my only contract is the conversation of that day with your consultant explaining the same thing you saying to me right now.
Your prompt respond will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Phumi
