Cheques clearing into accounts

First National Bank. The bank that advertises as follow: Does your bank do this and that for you? If not then switch. Yeah right, think twice my friends!

I deposited a cheque into an personal account and was told that it would take ten days to clear, which was all good. But interesting enough the cheque amount was debited to the business account it was issued from the next morning thus reducing the balance immediately, the credit in my personal account however will apparently still take 10 days to reflect according to the call centre. Now my question would be where does that money sit for ten days FNB? Who get the financial advantage of it? Is that how you cover the cost of all your so called "other benefits" to your clients other banks don't offer?
