Charged for an account that they won't close!

I have been trying to close my Cheque account since 21 December 2024. I visited the branch 3 times, and called in May month. I was forced to pay R1000 to close the account, which I did. I was told the account would be closed in 3 days. But now again, its still not closed and I must pay again before they close it. Im not sure why I must keep paying for something that I dont want or need. This is totally unacceptable.
