Change of surname and FICA
1. Change of surname. In spite of ample proof that I reverted back to my ****en name (new ID, old ID with ****en name, death certificate of spouse) FNB demanded letter from Home Affairs, which they don't give in case of reverting back to ****en name. I lost many hours at work while spending it in queues at FNB and Home Affairs. FNB did eventually change my surname, but why was I put through this? Surely my case is not unique? Nedbank, where I also have an account, was quite happy to adhere to my request.

Out of this simple request of mine, another nightmare arouse. FNB wants proof of residence or they will freeze my accounts!!!

2. I have bought and moved to a share block estate out of town and use a post box, because post does not get delivered here. FNB does not want to accept any of the proof of residence that I am able to provide. (Letter from Board of Governors of estate, my electricity bill from estate, title deed of property). I still own the property that I used previously as proof of residence, but am renting it out and the ESKOM acc is in the name of the tenants. No sollution, suggestion from FNB, just the threat of freezing my accounts. What now?
