Card shenanigan's

I do not understand why I need to wait for a card to be issued in some secret place when I open an account. Capitec can issue my card immediately. Best of all the courier can take between 2 and five days to deliver the card. That gives them a very long timespan where a person must sit and wait for a card. Also note the account I am referring to is a savings account for a child. I am so baffled by this, if your card gets lost does it take FNB this long to issue a card? What do their clients do when they need to access their fund in that time frame? It seems like very unnecessary rigmarole to me. Why can other banks issue cards in the bank but not FNB?
