Card Machine Not Linked - 5 Days Without Support
Good morning
My card machine has still not been linked to my business account after 5 days, and this is severely affecting my business.
On 24th August, an employee from the Merchant Department assured me it would be linked and requested company documents, which I immediately provided.
On 26th August, I received a call again confirming it would be linked. I was then asked to amend the letter to include the card machine number, which I did. I was told it would be sorted out immediately.
On th 27th August, I sent an email to enquire about progress and I have received no response to date.
On 28th August, another employee told me he would escalate the matter to management. Nothing has been done .
My customers do not carry cash and want to use the card facility, but they are unable to because my machine is not working due to FNB's delay.
FNB always say they support and empower small businesses, but in practice this is not what happens. It feels like FNB only cares about profit and monthly fees, not about the survival of the small businesses that keep it in business. Practice what you preach , if you say you support small businesses, then show it through your service.
FNB does not value its small business customers at all. I need this matter to be treated as urgent and resolved today.
Kind regards Graca dos Santos
My matter with FNB Merchant Services is still not resolved, and the level of service I have received is extremely poor. It is unacceptable that a bank of FNB's stature misleads customers, gives conflicting information, and then abandons them when it is time to deliver. This is not just poor administration, it is poor customer service and shows no regard for loyal clients who trusted your campaign.
On the 24th of August, I was informed by an employee of FNB that my card machine would be linked and I was requested to send company documents, which I did immediately.
On the 27th of August, a different employee confirmed that it would be done and asked me to include the model number of the card machine, which I also provided.
Both employees who called were fully aware that it was a different company with a different registration number that had to be linked, and both assured me that it could be done.
Suddenly, I received an email from the Merchant department stating that it cannot be done. I am now being told I must spend more to buy a new machine and pay the monthly data fee of R49.
FNB introduced the card machine while campaigning, and now that they have decided to end the campaign, customers have to suffer the consequences. Why did two employees assure me it would be done knowing very well that the campaign was already over?
In closing, I feel misled and frustrated. I comp**** with every request in good faith, only to be told at the last minute that I must incur further costs. I request that FNB honours what its employees promised and links my existing machine as initially agreed, without forcing me to purchase a new one.
