Card cancelled without my authorisation
I received an sms yesterday (29/01/2015) at 16:55 from FNB stating that my card had been cancelled. I found this very strange as i had not requested for my card to be cancelled. I called FNB this morning and i spoke to Thabiso Seputetja and he said that i had indeed called in to have my card cancelled, which is not the case. I then requested a copy of the alleged telephone conversation and he told me that he cannot send it to me but he can play it to me over the phone, which i found very strange. The recording was hardly audible but what i can tell for sure is that the voice of the person speaking is not mine. I am concerned that the card was cancelled with somebody just providing my ID number and names and not my full security details like my address etc. I am also confused and uneasy about a bank of FNB's calibre claiming that they do not have the facilities to email me the recording of that conversation. I do not feel comfortable with continuing with this account as i feel that my account has been compromised and somebody could be in the process of getting a new card using my name and i could incure financial losses as a result.
