Card Blocked Transactions not being refunded

I have a card transaction that was cancelled/blocked on the 24th of December 2025 (total amount R4,832.03), and the service I was paying for did not receive the funds.

Wednesday January 7th 2026 I logged a debitCard dispute and on Tuesday January 13th I called to follow up and I was advised this can take up to 40 days. This is very inconveniencing as the service provider told me the Bank is the one that rejected/blocked the payment. Why are you blocking the payment and still deducting the funds from my account?, now I have to wait more than a month for my funds to be credited back into my account.

In November 2025, a similar issue happened again and I had to log a complaint for it to be resolved.
