Can't wait to say goodbye to FNB for good
1. I lodged a complaint with FNB 5 days ago, on 17th Feb, and I still haven't received a call back, even though I responded to FNB's email on the same day (complaint ***). I was promised that a consultant would contact me within 24-48 Business hours 2. I have tried setting up the same forex payment again today, and it came up with the same errors (invalid post code etc.) I am certain all the details I have entered are correct, and couldn't find any online guidance on how to troubleshoot this error 3. I have specified that this is an urgent transfer, towards the purchase of a home, and yet FNB has made no effort to get in touch with me 4. The ZAR to EUR rate has since worsened (R17.63 to R17.81), which FNB should be held liable for 5. I had to lodge a complaint last week as well, because FNB's app "forgot" my credentials once I got back to Europe. So I first had to set up my app again in order to be able to add myself as a forex recipient. This was after I had had to call back FNB several times in Dec 2020 to set up my app, and dealt with a very impolite and unhelpful agent on the phone 6. As an alternative, I tried transferring my funds back to Capitec (where I wish I had left it in the first place), but could find no indication anywhere of my daily payment limits, or how to change them. I just keep receiving the following message: "To increase your limit, you need to have a bank card". Guess what? I have a bank card. In conclusion, the funds that I urgently need and should have free access to, is now being help hostage by FNB while the ZAR-EUR rate is worsening by the day. I have been a customer at FNB for roughly 13 years, and I'm officially fed up. I need immediate assistance with either transferring my funds to my European account, or back to my Capitec account, and with closing my FNB account for good. And good riddance.
