Can't say it's bad service - It's no service
This is my 4th complaint of FNB this year. On 9 October, I requested that my cheque account be downgraded to savings. The request was not attended to when I followed up 16 Days later, they have no record of the request aside from the FNB Secure Chat history. I wrote a complaint and then received an apologetic email from FNB reassuring me that this will be resolved and was promised a call.
On 26 October, I sent an unrelated email to FNB personal loans dept. asking them to reduce my CPP premium on my personal loan as this is what their policy promises. The automatic reply email says you will recieve feedback within 3 working days - Spoiler Alert, I did not. I decided to switch my credit insurance to Zestlife and what a walk in a park that was!
Later in the day of 26 October, I get a call from the credit card department at FNB where the woman in the call centre tried to force me into taking additional insurance on my credit card and would not take no for an answer. She persistently kept on forcing and forcing me until she abruptly ended the call after I reiterated to her that I am not interested.
The I got a call on 27 October from the complaints department and I told the consultant about everything that has happened and my disappointment in FNB overall. I mentioned that my cheque account was not downgraded, I mentioned to him that I put in a request for my CPP premium to be lowered. I mentioned to him that I was served by a very rude woman trying to sell me more insurance products from FNB. He reassured me that he would see to it that my Cheque account be downgraded and request for the CPP premium reduction be attended to and that he would investigate the call I received from the Credit Insurance Sales Dept and that he will be in contact.
I have since not heard a word from FNB. I am still being charged the banking fees of a Premier Cheque client and there is just absolutely no one to turn to.
FNB has let me down.
Whomever from FNB reads this, do not call me and waste my time with empty promises again. Just fix this please. I want a Zero Savings Account. No monthly charges.
I have pleaded with FNB this year to have my 25.75% personal loan interest rate reduced with the cost of living in SA rising though the roof every day. I was outright declined. I pay thousands in banking fees and interest to FNB on a monthly basis and I am just disappointed that this is the level of service received.
