Cant close account with FNB, while they keep charging me every month to keep account open

I opened a FNB private cheque account at the end of last year to help send some money overseas. I have now moved to Ireland and have been trying to close my account for more than 6 months without any joy.

The overall customer service has been non-existant, the 'private banker' assigned to me has done even less. 5 minutes to open an account and 5 years to close that account it seems, all the while charging me R200 per month to keep the account open, which they wont let me close!

Had no issues closing accounts with other banks.
