CANNOT SWITCH BANK IN 10 MINUTES

I wanted to switch banks from my current bank to FNB, especially after their advertising indicated that it takes 10 minutes to switch & it is so easy. Well, NOT!! I have spent HOURS in the bank getting everything open & trying to get it sorted. I have no guarantee that my salary & debit orders will be switched even though I had the forms completed in the branch.
I app**** for a credit card online today & it was declined! I've had a credit card with my current bank for 20 years & never had a problem. I was advised by the branch consultants that I shouldn't have app**** online because lots of people have problems. How is that for their advertising! Now I have to wait 3 months before I can apply again with no idea if I will get a credit card!
In the meantime, I have to wait & see if the salary and debit order switch takes place before I can decide if I am going to cancel everything with FNB & stay with my current bank or stay with FNB. This means that I will be paying banking fees at 2 banks for 3 months until I know if I can get a credit card with FNB.
On the up side, the consultants in the branch are very friendly & helpful even in the face of me being upset with the whole process
