Cannot be trusted

The bank assured everyone publicly that they are prepared for the influx of traffic due to their Black Friday specials. That aged like raw fish that's been left outside on a warm summer day! You clearly can't trust this bank because their word clearly means nothing!

In this case, their app started to crash and even before midnight when the special went live. Even their regular website was basically completely down and you couldn't even access regular banking features!

Many of the people were up till 4AM repeatedly refreshing and battling an endless stream of errors. What was more frustrating was that even if you saw the deal, you wanted and clicked on it, you would still get an error! (Which begs the question ... did anyone actually manage to get the deal, or was this a PR stunt?) At one point it was replaced with a "call me back" page, which I filled in. Needless to say, if anyone does attempt to call me back related to this, they will get an ear full ...

Needless to say, this bank has at the very least "bluffed" to all their customers when they mentioned that they are "ready for the event". So how much else is a "bluff" in terms of features and functionality? If they would "bluff" about something like this, how much else is there that they are "bluffing"? It's an important question every one of their clients should be asking themselves!

From my side, I'm going to need to evaluate how much I'm spending on services and fees with FNB, because I'll personally be making less use of them going forward since they clearly can't be trusted.

It's time to look for an alternative bank...

Reviewer Update
I have no idea why FNB decided to log this as a formal complaint on my behalf only to email me a generic canned response that they seem to be using for everyone who's complaining.

It's absolutely terrible and frankly only made the situation worse!
I now think even less of their brand and overall competency.

As promised, I'll continue to look for ways to move to a different bank and support FNB less.
