Cancelled Credit Card, Still being charged fees

I am currently overseas and closed all my FNB accounts via email. I received confirmation of this on the first of August 2016. I logged into FNB, and saw that my Credit Card account was still active albeit with a limit of R0.00. Ok, I thought, maybe that is the procedure.

On the 11th I received a statement which showed that a card and account fee for this credit card was deducted. I immediately sent an email to the consultant that told me that the accounts have been closed but never received a response.

Please roll back the fees and CANCEL my credit card. I am overseas and can only be reached via email and hellopeter

FNB's staff is just incompentent. I don't know how many times I must say that I AM NOT IN SOUTH AFRICA AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE REACHED BY PHONE. Every single person that mails me says that they tried to call me.

A Sibongile M has email me saying I have to pay the service fee to close the account

1) Why wasn't this mentioned when I cancelled the account??

2) How am I suppose to pay this? FOR THE HUNDREDTH TIME I AM NO LONGER IN SOUTH AFRICA AND MY CHEQUE ACCOUNT IS CLOSED

Please, please please do something to get this sorted. I am getting very annoyed with the difficulty in getting assistance

Daffnie,

The response I sent to Sibongile M (after the obviously did not read the mail) went unanswered. This response was sent on the 24th of August and now you are telling me that I have to liase with them although they do not response. I also get the distinct impression that you did not bother to read the mail thread and all you saw is that someone responsed.

PLEASE NOTE AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A THING WITH FNB - Just because someone sent a one sentence response to the client doesn't mean that the issue has been resolved. I AM STILL IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE, going on 19 days now. Sort it out

Got a response from Sibongle M that I can pay it via online banking...... I mean, come on.... I have already mentioned that I no longer have a cheque account..... For the hundreth time these are the facts

1 - I am not in South Africa

2- The cheque account was closed at the same time as the credit card supposedly was.

3 - I cannot walk into a branch, I cannot transfer money via online banking (since I have no cheque account)

These are your options - I want resolution today as this has been taken forever.

1) Give me a way to pay the R43 via another credit card.

2) Take the 5000 odd ebucks and close this credit card account

3) If you cannot provide me with a way to pay, then it is not my fault if I do not pay. If you cannot give me away, write off the R43 and close the account as it was suppose to be done at the beginning of August

I WANT A RESOLUTION TODAY. I am tired of sending mails back and forth. I am tired of writing complaints here.
