CANCELLED CARD WITH NO WARNING
Daughter gets an SMS from FNB that her card is expiring and she needs to come into the branch to get new card. She has one day off and 7 days on 12 hours shifts so she decides to do it straight away on her last day off for 7 days. The branch tells her that she needs her student ID, which she doesn’t have with her. So she says she will have to come back. She asks if the card will still work and they state yes, until expiry date. Today she tries to pay for her lunch and her card declines. I email FNB and hours later they phone her to tell her that her card has been cancelled!! So now I have a daughter alone in Cape Town with no access to her own money!! And FNB’s answer – YOU MUST COME IN TO THE BRANCH!! Do you not understand that people have jobs? YOU MESSED UP SO YOU SHOULD FIX THIS! AND IF YOU CAN’T THEN BYE BYE FNB – SHE WILL OPEN AN ACCOUNT ELSEWHERE!
