Cancelations

My Husband and I have settled our credit cards with FNB, we asked for the account's to be closed and we where told to mail it to *** and they will cancel the account. We did so, mine was cancelled and taken off after 5 days but my husbands not, so we mail again and after the 5th mail we sent requesting for cancellation, we phoned, they told him it takes 7 to 14 working days, to be cancelled. It's now been 3 weeks the account is still open and they have charged him admin fee for the month. (it's not a big amount but the account was settled, now it's not). If an account can be created the same day why can't an account not be cancelled the same day or even just the same week. not 3 weeks later and how ever long it will take after this review?
