CAN'T GET A CREDIT CARD!!!!!!

In January 2017 I changed banks to FNB mostly because I was intriqued by the eBucks incentive. I opened my Premier Cheque Account but was rejected for a credit card. I went to my nearest branch and they told me that this usually happens with new customers and that I should give a month or two for my salary to be paid into the account and then try again. I indeed did this but was rejected again on account of my affordability. Again I waited and early in April I app**** again online. I was then contacted by a man on 12 April 2017, who then did a telephonic application, for which I was then approved for in the amount of R42,000 and given details to where I should e-mail my payslips. I then did this but was never given any further notifications. I then proceeded back to my branch on 2 May 2017 and was then advised that they would cancel the logged application and apply from the start at the branch. This morning I was phoned and informed that the new application was also rejected.

I am very unhappy with this, because 1) I was told that my telephonic application was successful and 2) I know for sure that I can afford a credit card. I know of people who are in lesser positions than I am who succeeded with a credit card application.

The only reasons I want a credit card is to earn eBucks and for emergency purposes.

I have now decided to go back to my previous bank, where I had the same kind of account for much less.

I therefore urge everone to NOT open a FNB account because somehow able people can't afford a simple credit card. And about 3 to 4 times a week I receive mail or SMS's from FNB that I qualify for a loan of up to R150,000, but they cannot grant me a credit card with even R10,000 limit.

PATHETIC!! Good buy and good riddens!!!
