Can't close an account without a finger print

I tried to close my First National Bank credit card and, without me allowing the clerk to take my finger prints, I could not close this account.<br> The manageress told me that it is \bank policy"for them to take my finger prints. I believe that it is totally unnecessary.<br> The name on the credit card matches the name in my identity document. That should be enough for the clerk to close my account. The policy in the bank is that I have to submit my finger prints to the bank to allow them to be verified by Home Affairs. What over the top ******* is this? My identity document has a bar code which can be submitted to Home Affairs for verification.<br> To close a paid-up account should be a simple four step process: Verify the client identity by using an identity document"
