My experience with FNB Short Term Insurance has been absolutely nightmarish. I have been trying to effect a cancellation of insurance cover for a vehicle that was dually insured. FNB STI customer service agents answered my calls on time and assured me that they would cancel the policy with effect from the day of the respective conversation (I contacted them three times over a two-week period).

With the first request, they asked that I send proof of dual cover via email. That email was never responded to.

With the second request, a week later, they asked that I send proof of dual cover via email. That email was never responded to.

With the second request, a week later, they asked that I send proof of dual cover via email. In addition they advised that they would only reimburse half my premiums. Essentially meaning they will keep half my money just because they feel entitled to their share. Due to the delay in attending to my request they now get to keep more of it. Very clever!
