I was under the impression that my monthly payment from my company to settle the outstanding balance on my personal credit card was being held back as the payment was coming from my company and not my personal check account. I therefore changed the debit order so that the payment to settle the credit card balance every month would come form my personal current account. I was amazed to discover that they still put a hold on the amount, even if it comes from my personal account. Effectively the bank is taking MY MONEY from me and holding on to it, and not giving me access to my own money for about 8 days. This is outrageous, it amounts to theft! Can you imagine how much money the bank is making from all the money they are holding back from their customers. I will be making some enquiries with other banks and if the other banks do not do this, I will be moving all my accounts across to another bank (I have a few bank accounts including my business account). I am a long standing FNB account holder, and even worked for them for 14 years. I just can not believe that their ethics have dropped to this low level
