Business account closed due to *********** administrator
I am utterly disgusted with FNB. I have a business account which I opened in 2021. Due to no activity, the account was closed in 2023/2024. In September 2024, business started to pick up again, and I went to the FNB branch in Centurion and requested if they can re-activate the account. The account was not re-activated, but I was given a new account number and I was told to use the same online log in details. All was going well until this morning when I logged into my online business profile and realized that the business account is no longer on my business profile. I called FNB and was told that the account is closed because it is in arrears. The bank charges are due and the expected payment due to be paid today would have taken care of the charges. However, some idiot administrator who clearly has no idea how to do their job decided to close the account which is active. The last payment that was made into the account was in March 2025. So, how the hell can you tell me that the account is closed because of the outstanding amount. Then, I am told that the only way to resolve this FNB mess up is for me to be inconvenienced even further and go to the bank. I used to think that FNB was the best and most proficient bank around but clearly that is no longer the case as they choose to hire just anyone to work for them. Surely this is a simple and easy part of the administrators job, identify which accounts are not active before closing the account.
When i got back to my office, i received an email stating the following:
"Kindly be advised that we have tried to contact you on ********* for authentication, the number does not exist." This is FNB using my old contact number after I went to the branch and updated my old number with my new existing number.
