Bullying behaviour by FNB

As a long-time customer of FNB I was summarily informed some days ago that they would no longer be sending my credit card statements by email. To obtain my statement I would need to download their banking app and sign on for on-line banking or request a statement every month by telephone and pay R40-00 for the privilege. Along with many older customers I am reluctant to involve myself in on-line banking because of the risks involved. Whether this bullying behaviour by FNB is motivated by the desire to save a few pennies for their shareholders or to force their banking app on an unwilling public, it is obvious that they care nothing for their customers. They further add insult to injury by pretending that this is in order to provide an improved service to the customers who they are exposing to increased risk and expense. I don’t know who is currently running FNB but it evidently no longer provides the same level of service as in the past. They spend a lot of money in the attempt to attract new customers (“How can we help you indeed !!!) therefore it is surprising that they would show so little interest in retaining the long-term customers that they already have.
