Bond settlement

In 2023 around June/July I asked FNB to give me my settlement amount because I had enough money to settle my house bond, it was sent to me and I payed in full. The surprise of my life came in this year after one tear (1) when I was told that I owe them plus minus R12 000.00. They are now trying to explain the process of settling the bond house after all these accumulated interests. I told them that they should have done that last year when I was paying them. Apparently , according to them 49c (fourty nine cents) was left . My argument is that nobody told me and nobody explained to me about their settlement process, why now when I need my Tittle Deed, they come up with stories? It means they put me into the trap to loose my house after certain period.
