Block credit card without notice

Found out that my credit card is blocked and that FNB would like FICA documents after I've done 2 hours of shopping and am ready to pay for my groceries. Why do something reasonable like ask for the documents when you can just block my card? The quality of your systems are deteriorating... this is not the FNB that I joined
