Beyond Revolted with Premier Banking / Retentions

Today is day 7 since I last lodged my complaint. Each and every day, I have had to phone to try to obtain feedback from my original complaint as to what the heck is going on. As it currently stands, my account is STILL in a negative of R4054, due to unpaid fees/money that FNB has ****** from me. Money that I clearly do not have. I do not have the energy to explain the entire story over again. You are welcome to go back on my call history. I write this complaint that in the hopes that somebody at FNB will have the decency to call me back. As mentioned previously, I will take this to the highest authority not only due to the matter of the ********* and theiving banking practices by your organisation over the past 4 months but also, the clear lack of disregard for your customers. I have held onto the phone for almost 20min trying to get old of Krishen who over promised but underdelivered... I demand - Each and every unpaid fee that was ****** from me be reversed with immediate effect My account be closed - I cannot waste time like this trying to sort out problems with your service that I am paying a premium fee for each month A reference number so that I may lodge this formally with the Ombud.

Fully aware of what the pricing department told me, my problem is that I DID have sufficient funds at the time of purchase and that It is not my problem when the merchant banks the transaction. All good. Bye Bye FNB.

Hi Received no feedback on below: If FNB is willing to reverse the R1760, R110, R990.00 charged and guarantees that I will not be in this predicament ever again, I will remain a client. If not I will be switching my account by COB today. Please advise urgently Lyndol From: Lyndol Tayler Sent: 13 February 2018 08:16 AM To: 'Premier ResolutionCentre' ********** Subject: RE: HELLO PETER REF: ********** NF _ LYNDOL G LYONS RSAID ********** 182083 Importance: High Good day Thank you for the attachments. However: 1) On opening this account, pricing guide was never received by me, nor were Terms and conditions read out to me in a manner that I could understand (TCF) – I don’t remember terms and conditions being read out to me at all (perhaps you could provide the call recording) The bank did not practice due diligence in my opinion. 2) The banking app displayed my balance and available balance at the time of purchases made. I had sufficient funds regardless of when the merchant banks the transaction – this should not be placed on the shoulders of the customer. 3) No solution to my previous complaints were provided, hence the same problem re-occurred. At one stage I was advised to downgrade the account, which I wanted, to stop this from happening again, however, the complaints agent I spoke to talked me out of it and convinced me to keep the account and open a second account. No call was received to down grade or open a second account as promised – this should have been done to circumvent the problems reoccurrence. I was also promised that an eBucks account would be opened, This never happened. 4) Please see my last purchase from Clicks as an example. If I had insufficient funds when purchasing in store, surely the transaction would have declined. How is it possible that the purchase was made when my account was in a negative balance as you state? 5) I take responsibility for 3 of the unpaid fees charged as at the time I did not have sufficient funds for my dstv debit and also, to test your system I tried to make 2 x R25.00 purchases to see what the result would be. It is due to my above reasons that I feel the bank has no right to deduct the current and previous month’s unpaid items. Indeed a deadlock has been reached which is very unfortunate. The relationship could have been salvaged but I find the lack of concern for my financial wellbeing unacceptable and I have since opened a new account with Absa bank which I will have my Salary transferred into this month as I cannot afford lose R4052.00 at the end of this month as I am under debt review and have two minor dependants to take care of – One of which is disabled. The account can be closed and I will make a payment arrangement to pay off the outstanding fees.3

The Code of Banking practice places responsibility on both the bank and the customer. The Bank is responsible to ensure that we make our pricing and rewards information freely available and it is the customers responsibility to ensure that they read and understand them.

We advise that this complaint has reached a deadlock status. We are subjected to the Code of Banking Practice of South Africa and for unresolved disputes we support resolution through the Ombudsman of Banking Services. We have provided the Banking Ombudsman of Banking Services contact details.
