Beware of FNB
Take your business elsewhere. Client for almost 10yrs. App**** for a temp loan, they charged over R1k in interest and admin fees, took the money out of my account the next day and refused to reverse it. Cited system controlled processes and that an interacc transfer is considered a repayment. ABSURD! I didnt benefit from the loan, they got R1k out of me for chargres, all dispute avenues failed, after paying up my dues and requesting that my acc be closed, its still open accumulating monthly charges. Their business ethics leave much to be desired. Private banker manager is useless.

19 Aug 2022, 09:33I got a call from a representative that also has no power or authority. ALL my dues to FNB was cleared on 03 June 2022, I requested my "relationship banker" to close my account, FNB conveniently didn't, raising monthly fees and expecting that I be liable for R700 pm (R440 monthly fees and R248 service fees) since June 2022. This after they conned >R1k in fees and admin charges on one transaction (a temp loan I never had the benefit of as it was reversed back as a "repayment" after a day). This bank exploited me and wants to continue doing so. I want the account closed instead FNB wants me to sign an agreement to have my account be converted to an aspire account while they try and solve the issue! WOW! FNB wanting to milk more monthly charges while I have not been using the account at all. The bank ombudsman refers you back to the banking chains of command and wants proof that you exhausted all avenues. I will not recommend FNB to anyone.
