Beware FNB Cellphone Package ****

Recently, I was offered a ConeXis X2 cellphone by FNB's Smart Device Department. Our signed agreement only stated that they would immediately deduct R1500 from my cheque account, as a "pledge amount". thereafter, they would bill me R199 per month for my airtime. I then insured my new phone with Oakhurst Insurance, since FNB does not insure cellphones. Sadly, I was ****** and my phone ****** from me a few weeks later. I lodged a claim and my insurance paid me the amount of R1500 which appeared on our agreement. To my shock, disgust and disappointment - FNB told me to pay over R4500 which I knew nothing about and never signed up for. FNB refused to give me another phone, with the R1500 I only knew about. As a member, I then contacted FNB's Law On Call for assistance, but they could not help resolve my predicament. Now I have no cellphone, but every month FNB deducts R199 from my account. As their client, I feel cheated and unfairly treated. Moreover, I want to warn the public about my nasty experience. Do Not accept any cellphone that FNB offers you, unless they reveal all the facts to you and thus make an informed decision. My own bank is ******* to the core and their demanding emails to me are rude. Their contacts are... ********** (FNB Connect) and ... ********** (Smart Devices). Please, be warned...
