Being forced to Keep my Cheque Account Open!!

I have put myself under Debt Review and I changed my account as per instructions of the Debt Counsellors.

Trying to close by Fnb cheque account so that there is no unnecessary debit orders and bank fees as payments are being disbursed through Hyphen.

Went to Clear water branch this morning and was told that because I am under debt review they must keep my account open.

I don't see what purpose there will be to have my account open. There will not be any activity on the account. All I see is that FNB are trying to keep making money off a person who is suffering financially.

I am extremely disappointed in the way that FNB are treating me since I took the decision to place myself under Debt Review.

I would like to discuss this with a senior person to resolve and close my account as don't believe this is the only way!

Thanks.

Theresa
