Being charged for unsuccessful ATM cardless cash withdrawals
I was at V&A Waterfront on Sunday 10th November. I had forgot my wallet and needed to make a payment. So I decided to try use the FNB cardless cash withdraw at an FNB atm. I used the one next to Kauai.
I attempted multiple times, but the transaction was not processed. I got slips just saying unsuccessful. I then phoned FNB at that time and they told me they can NEVER process a cardless cash withdrawal on a Sunday. This is itself is questionable as a banking service, but how can you argue against such archaic structures and mindsets in banking? I made an alternative plan and asked a market vendor for cash via snapscan.
5 days later I question why the withdrawal amount has been taken off my account? There is no answer for this, other than I need to fill out an ATM dispute form and go to the branch. This process takes 5-7 working day... what if I really need this cash ?
On an aside not, myself and another person were nearly ****** in the ATM while I was trying the multiple transactions. The security guard in the ATM was no where to be seen. The person once seeing there was no cash coming, swiftly moved out the FNB ATM room.
Another hugely disappointing experience.
