BEEN DE*****ED ANF NO WORD FROM FNB
On 26.11.2023 when I went to buy something at our local grocery store and the transaction was declined due to insufficient funds, something was amiss. I checked my Banking App on my phone and realised I was de*****ed. A transaction of R4117,83 was passed against my account for a company called: "TRASYCOM MANCHEGA S." Instantly my account was cleared out. I immediately reported this to the ***** Department at FNB and cancelled my bank card. This transaction was done on the evening of 25.11.2023 without me receiving any notification or Approval request message from FNB. I subsequently received a Case Number: ***. On Monday 27.11.2023, I went to my Branch at Lifestyle Mall - Centurion. The Manager at this branch just reconfirmed the investigation can take up to 14 days and there is no guarantee that I will get my money back. I also asked what I can do to avoid this in the future...her reply was: "it is like her house was broken into and a week later they burgled her again. Nothing she did or not do, she had no control". what *******. I have been entrusting FNB with my money for almost 30 years, this is how I am treated. I reported the case, up to date only heard gibberish, no update from FNB. 17 days later. I am appalled by the bad service level, bad communication and the bad security at FNB. I need my money back, if not received within the following 3 days, I am also reporting this case to the Banking Ombutsman. I did nothing reckless to bring this on, I was told my bank card was cloned. I also tried contacting them via Secure Chat, huge delay and kept on disconnecting...happened 3 times. Surely FNB should take better steps to ensure this does not reoccur and they should refund their customers when this happens. Maybe we should revert back to our ancestors' method and hide my money under my mattress as this seem to have been more secure
