Be warned changing your FNB credit limits using online banking

During early June I tried to increase my credit card limit using online banking . I was successful however the system automatically upgraded my account to private clients. I contacted the call centre to explain that all I wanted was the limit change . The advisor told me that the problem will be escalated. My problems worsened while travelling abroad only to discover that the card that I had in my possession (since I didnt receive the new card in time) was partially deactivated which meant that I couldnt transfer funds into it. This complicated my travels since I couldnt pay for items using my credit card and couldnt transfer money into the account. The 24/7 suite of premier bankers (BTW I think 24/7 is an exaggeration , more like extended hours until 10pm) could do very little to rectify this issue (I recommend you and go and listen my numerous calls from the 18 June onwards). Anyway when I returned my banker upgraded my accounts and I can fault her for on her service. However I was very annoyed to find out that I did not earn any ebucks for approximately R60 000 worth of spend while travelling abroad due to a computer glitch and the fact that cheque account and credit account were different levels (Premier cheque) and Private Clients credit card (a change that I never initially requested but one that resulted due to the limit change). I dont mind paying for the Private Clients account however why do I have to be at a disadvantage due to FNB error? If ebucks are money then I have lost money due to this upgrade. Very first world problems indeed however it has been a highly frustating experience over the past 2 months. Any person attempting a limit change using FNB online banking should be warned that your account may be automatically upgraded. Further to this , if relationship banking exists, and there are actual people behind the IT systems then contact me to provide your plan on how I am going to get my ebucks for June's purchases and move from 10% to 40% due to your error!
