Be careful to apply at FNB for your Home Loan via Mortgage originators.

Tried applying for FNB home loan via a MO (Mortgage Originator) and received as expected a higher interest rate than ABSA even though its my own bank. MO originator was able to lower the interest rate to match by comparing their quotation to ABSA.

Preferred to stay with FNB due to discount and benefits they advertise on their online banking: * 50% back in ebucks on initiation fees, * Discount on transfer cost via FNB attorneys.

Enquired about the benefits and was told you need to apply in your personal capacity by one of their consultants, ie cancel the application via MO and apply yourself. Asked MO to cancel the application, and app**** myself.

Finally 3 days later told by a different consultant from the HL department that their policy does not allow applications for the same house via different sources, and I have to go via the MO.

Nice waste of time.
