Bank Your Change **** Process
On 30th April 2022 FNB transferred my funds from my bank account to the pocket savings account by means of the Bank your Change system. This however left me with no funds in my account. I was only left with R70 in my bank account. On the 1st May I had to get food for my family, electricity and petrol. However I had no funds left in my account. This has left me completely destitute without any means to feed my family. Upon querring this with the online customer service agents I was told that FNB has to wait 24 hours for my funds to reflect in the savings account before I can have it transferred back. I was then also advised that there is nothing that they can do to assist me with getting my funds back and that there is no senior management available on a Sunday. Instead I was given an email address by Tammie to log a complaint knowing full and well that no one would assist me on that email address.
What I would like to understand is the following: 1. With this Bank Your Change system, how can they just transfer all the funds from your account leaving you with only R70 to survive 2. Why does it take 24 hours for my funds to reflect when this process is done within FNB. When I transfer money from my pocket savings to my cheque account the funds reflect immediately. So how come with the Bank Your Change process it is different 3. How is it that no one is able to assist me when I have no funds left to feed my family. How must my family survive 24 hours with no food until the funds reflect?
I have been banking with FNB for well over 20 years and I have never ever felt this angered and frustrated with my bank. FNB needs to better their processes and assist their clients when complaints arise. Now I must run around borrowing money from people to feed my family when FNB is sitting with my funds. How does this work and better benefit me as a client when I am forced to not have access to my funds.
