Bank sharing personal information to other people

I was informed that there are people sharing my mom and my bank statement and whatever that is happening in our account, i went to the branch to complain they told me to call their call center agent and the call center agent told me it will take long and I must open a case again i must have that statement with me and the statement was never shared with me however the person who told me is telling me exactly what is happening in my account and in my mom's account. Do we really have suffer for our information to be protected? And if the bank can't protect our information who are we suppose to trust? What happened to POPIA? I am very disappointed with this kind of a service.
